Naturopathic Care

Fatigue & Energy

Tired all the time but bloodwork keeps coming back normal? Fatigue is rarely one thing. Let's find what's actually driving yours.

Dr. Margot ND - A Naturopathic doctor working in Toronto and virtually online.

The opening conversation

Tired all the time but can't figure out why? You're not lazy. You're not just stressed. And "get more sleep" is probably not the answer you're looking for because you're already trying that.

Fatigue is one of the most common concerns I see in my practice, and it's also one of the most misunderstood. It rarely has a single cause. More often, it's a combination of things happening at once: nutrient deficiencies, dysregulated cortisol, blood sugar instability, poor sleep quality, thyroid dysfunction, or some combination of all of the above.

The conventional system often runs a basic panel, tells you everything looks "normal," and sends you on your way. But normal on paper doesn't always mean optimal for you.

That's where naturopathic care comes in.

What I can help with

Cortisol and adrenal function, thyroid health, iron and B12 levels, blood sugar and insulin patterns, sleep quality and sleep architecture, nutrient deficiencies, and the connections between all of the above.

How I approach

Fatigue & Energy

Using the Hormone Cornerstone Method, I look at your fatigue from every angle. We start with a thorough assessment of your health history, your symptoms, and your lifestyle.

From there, we use in-depth testing to identify exactly what is driving your low energy, whether that's a cortisol imbalance, a nutrient deficiency like iron or B12, blood sugar dysregulation, a thyroid concern, or something else entirely.

From there, I build a personalized, manageable treatment plan that addresses the root cause, not just the symptom. No guesswork. No generic advice. A strategy that is specific to you.

FAQs

Don't see your question here? Reach out and I'll answer it directly.

How long before I start feeling better?

This varies by person and by what we find. Most patients begin to notice shifts within the first few appointments, but the full Hormone Cornerstone Method is designed to create lasting change over time, not just a temporary fix.

Can this be done virtually?

Yes. Virtual naturopathic care is available to any resident of Ontario.

Can you help with burnout?

Yes. Burnout has a significant hormonal component, particularly around cortisol and adrenal function. I work with a lot of patients who are burned out or running on empty and we approach it as the whole-body concern that it is.

My doctor said my bloodwork is normal. Why am I still so tired?

Standard bloodwork panels don't always catch the full picture. As a Naturopathic Doctor, I look at a broader range of markers and assess them against optimal ranges, not just standard reference ranges. There is often more to uncover than a routine panel reveals.

Is fatigue really a hormonal issue?

Very often, yes. Cortisol, thyroid hormone, insulin, and sex hormones all play a role in how energized you feel day to day. When even one of these is off, it can have a significant impact on your energy levels.
